Ohne Avantgarde gibt es keine Traditionen.
Bazon Brock entwickelt eine Theorie,
die die Avantgarde als Schöpferin
von Traditionen ausweist.

So wird die Avantgarde weder
als Innovationsimperativ gedeutet,
der selbst klassisch geworden und
damit gescheitert ist,
noch verschwindet sie in einem
gesamtgesellschaftlichen Neuheitsdiktat.
Vielmehr wird hier für einen Avantgardebegriff
gestritten, der aus der Position des Neuen
heraus den Blick auf die Traditionen
und die historischen Bestände neu konstituiert.

Bazon Brock develops
a theory that identifies the avant-garde
as the creator of traditions.

Thus, the avant-garde is neither
interpreted as an imperative to innovate,
which itself has become
classic and thus failed,
nor does it disappear in a
society-wide dictate of novelty.

An avant-garde concept is that,
from the position of the new,
constitutes a new view of the
traditions and the historical stocks.
