Abstract painting is a development. It is a way to see reality. Mostly the paintings reflect certain feelings and relations, which are not possible to articulate. It´s poetic, abstract figures are a mind reflections of what is happening all around. The surface and style is a gesture which transforms its own language to the viewer and is able to touch his thoughts, feelings and even memories. Painting for me is a sensual transformation, besides its possibility to expose many different things, stories or realities, it affects a subconscious layer of our mind. And on this level abstract painting is an enormous treasure. I am working on its technique and representation to become unseen, where fragments and details speak for themselves, where the painter with his hand and brush behind the strokes becomes practically invisible.
A studio-workflow is a contribution and incredible interesting practice that enhances my artistic skills and enriches my personal views.
During my studies at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, I´ve studied many American Artist, such as Richard Serra, Bruce Naumann, Jackson Pollock, Donald Judd, David Hockney, Cindy Sherman, …too many, to be written down here. But during my visits to America, I´ve seen how much the American Artworld is influenced by german, by European Art, Rosemarie Trockel, Joseph Beuys, Martin Kippenberger and so on.
A collaboration between abstract and surreal sometimes is a perception of modern and contemporary art an our daily reality. It is great, to follow this tradition and establish a fully, different and well-educated view on the cultural exchange in between „global views“, which forms now the future of artistic practice and and its global perception.
