Free Choice is a movie about the lost generation
in between two eras and in between two time epochs.
It depicts the abandoned, elderly people who
in order to survive need to sell flowers
or mushrooms on the markets of the Russian suburbs,
while the youngsters are heavily drinking
and spending their time senseless. There is no connection
between those two worlds, yet they are one nation,
one country and one people.
This documentary is about the absurdity of life in post-soviet Russia.
